On June 16-18 in Granby , Qc, players from Poland, Belgium, Sweden, USA and Canada competed in the third annual Racketlon Desjardins. The top canadian player this year is without any doubt 21 years old Patrick jr Laplante. Once again he proved he’s unbeatable. Ex-canadian badminton champ Fred D’amours was a tough customer but Patrick’s steadiness in tennis was too much to handle for the finalist. Score: tt Pat 21-10, badm: Fred 21-9, squash Fred 21-19, tennis Pat 21-15 total +2 Patrick. Canadian 2nd ranked player Jeremy Easterbrook ended up 3rd by defeating Peter DeBleeckere from Belgium. Annie Pier Audet from Chandler Gaspésie (11h East of Granby) was once again too strong for her opponents. Her squash and tennis improved greatly in the last few month. Top american player Shona Kerr, couldn’t take advantage of her incredible squash and finished 2nd. Ex-no. 1 ranked player Marie-Hélène Bédard made her comeback to Racketlon by finishing third.
