On August 18-19 at the RA Center in Ottawa, the racket athletes from Ontario, Quebec and Massachusetts battled hard to see who is the best racket athlete in the East.
The A class was won easily by Canada #2 Jeremy Easterbrook against Ottawa’s Ian Assing in the finale. Women’s was again to be won by Canada’s #1 player Mary Hall, Heather Dart is second. In the finale, Mary won all sports but badminton.
O-45 was outrageously dominated by ex-elite player Richard Soucy who defeated Andy Stenson in 3 sports in the finale. This is scary considering he is a world ranked senior tennis player…
New to Racketlon, U-17 winner Guillaume Blais is a top table tennis player and one of the best junior badminton player in Quebec and has experience in both squash and tennis. He ousted the #1 seed Anthony Bedard by the smallest margin, Anthony winning both badminton and squash, Guillaume reached the finale where he defeated local player Maxime Marion (who defeated Gabriel Angers in the semis) after losing the squash and causing a surprise by winning the tennis 21-20. U-14 was to be won by Nathan Bedard against Danick Marion.
The “B” winner is Marc Fortin (our new president) against badminton specialist Vincent de Grace Junior doubles winners are Gabriel Angers and Guillaume Blais (featured image) Adults doubles winners are Easterbrook and Stenson.
