Laplante is back and repeats in Ottawa

Patrick jr Laplante just came back from a season of racketlon tournaments in Europe and it showed.  On August 24-25 he was above the field, only losing badminton to specialist Soucy but had a battle against D’amours in the final losing both squash and badminton. Congrats to other winners:   Brian Eldridge in men’s B, Stan Singh in men’s C, Jasmin Éthier in U-16, Christian Loo in U-13, Rod Bedard defended his title in O-45, Kathy Carter women’s A,  Pintea/Carter in mixed doubles, Martynyshin Bros. in B doubles (2nd year in a row)and Soucy/Laplante in A doubles. Tournament was a great success with a big increase in participants this year (55).  Thanks to the junior categories 10 players U-13-wow and four  U-16. Youngest participant was 9 years old (Nathan Bedard), while oldest was 55 (I won’t mention his name :))   It promises to grow even bigger next time.
